The Florida Pest
Management Association (FPMA) is a state-wide
organization with its main office located in
Orlando, Florida. The Association was
founded in 1945 in Gainesville, Florida as a
non-profit trade association 501(c)6. For
over 50 years it has represented the
industry and protected Floridians.
To
communicate the role of the industry as
protectors of food, health, property, and
environment; to promote high standards of
business ethics among industry members; to
support research, education, and training
within the industry; and to cooperate with
federal, state and local government for the
good of the community and the industry.
The
pest control industry is governed by Florida
Statutes chapter 482, first enacted in 1947.
The industry is regulated by the Department
of Agriculture and Consumer Services -
Bureau of Entomology and Pest Control.
